Apartments Oneiro are situated above the village of Kalamitsi and have an incredible view over the village and the sea. It is like a dream (Oneiro in Greek) but it is reality. Kalamitsi, a mountain village (383 m.) with about 200 inhabitants, is in an idyllic location on the west coast of Lefkas. Cypresses rise high in the sky and countless very old olive trees look like real artifacts.
The wealth of flowers in springtime is overwhelming. Kalamitsi is centrally situated in respect of the splendid beaches of the west coast. The lovely beach of Megali Petra is only 5 kilometres from the village – it is a fantastic place for those seeking tranquility.
The long, golden sandy beaches of Kathisma and Pefkoulia are livelier venues. If you go to the south you will see the famous beaches of Egremnoi and Porto Katsiki. Kalamitsi is a traditional village with mainly farmers and their most important means of conveyance is often the donkey. The elderly women still wear the traditional dresses. Honey, wine, olive oil and almonds are the most important local products. The village has tavernas, cafes and a mini-market. The distance to Aghios Nikitas is 6 km and to Lefkastown 18 km.
